• Finals Week Posted: Dec 08

  • Final Exam Thursday, Dec 11, 2:30 - 4:30 pm

    I want to make sure that the Final Exam procedure is clear. Here are the steps to follow:

    • From the Final Exam sheet that I handed out in class, pick 4 questions (besides Question 1) to answer.
    • Study for answering those 4 questions in class
    • Think about why you chose those 4 questions. Do they relate to your project? Is it something you already knew? Be honest.
    • Bring the Final Exam sheet to the Final Exam in our classroom at the Final Exam time. You will not have your notes or any other papers that you bring during the exam, except for the Final Exam sheet.
    • Take the exam answering all 5 questions in the classroom.
    • Hand in your Final Exam before the exam period ends.

  • Research Paper Due Date: Noon, Friday, Dec 12

    Special Note: I will accept the Research Paper through Monday, Dec 15 by 8 am. To do so, email me by Noon on Friday, Dec 15 if you want this extension.

• Final Exam Posted: Dec 02

  The Final Exam will be on Thursday, Dec 11, 2:30 - 4:30 pm in our regular classroom.

  The course will cover the material since the Midterm Exam:

  • UML - Class Diagram, relationships, sequence diagram, use case diagram
  • Dynamic Verification - basic concepts
  • Refactoring - basic concepts, know 2 or more complete examples
  • Code Smells - basic concepts, know 2 or more complete examples
  • SOLID - know the principles
  • Encapsulation & Information Hiding - Know the rules
  • Software Architecture - major styles
  • Technical Debt - major concepts
  • Software Configuration Management - purpose, types, version control

  Optional:

  • DevOps

  Focus on breadth, not depth.

  The exam will have a variety of problem types including short answer, definition, comparison, and application to a problem/scenario. If I did not cover it in class, it will not be on the exam.
