Exercise 16: GitHub SSH key

Before you begin, you must make sure you have done the following correctly:

The following references “knuth or your local machine”. By this, I mean the system that contains your private SSH key. I prefer this to be your local machine, but it is not required.

Complete the following in order:

  1. Add a passphrase to your key
  2. Add your SSH key to GitHub
  3. Upload a screenshot of testing your GitHub SSH key knuth or your local machine
  4. Create a private repository on GitHub with the name “TestGitSSH-uaid” where uaid is your University of Akron id (email without the @zips.uakron.edu part).
  5. Upload a screenshot of cloning your new repository on knuth or your local machine
